Did anyone else read this book as a child? It's wonderful.
It's by Becky Rehyer. It's illustrated by Ruth Gannett and was nominated for a Caldecott medal. I asked my friendly neighborhood librarian and voila! A faint memory of a book is now in my hot little hands.

Sorry about the snow. We are finally rid of it here (but don't say that too loudly, that could change). :D
This is one book I don't remember, but I love the older stories!
