We had a weekend away in Canmore for a church retreat. It was amazingly beautiful in the mountains, the leaves were turning yellow and it was so warm and sunny.We learned about Amos, Hosea and Isaiah. It was a lot of connection between OT prohets and Jesus's teaching and today's world. Very thought provoking. How do we live in Christ when our capitalist consumer society is pulling us the other way?
Lots of talk of war and what the prophets said about it. Will we ever learn? Nothing seems to change.
$400 billion dollars are spent annually in North America on advertising. It's a wonder my why my wish list isn't larger.
So, because I am such a consumer and still trying to absorb what we learned on the weekend....
enjoying: Hallmark magazine; new fall tv shows (especially Men in Trees and Ugly Betty); charm squares from Moda fabric - April Cornell plaid Sonnet , floral Sonnet and Chocolat (fun to have all the colours and patterns at once); a new green shirt
need to start: a quilted harvest table runner kit; cleaning the house and getting ready for the weekend

how pretty would that be! i've toured through canmore a couple times when i've been in calgary at my brothers but i've never had a chance to see it in fall.
